Red Cross Blood Drive

Online Blood Drive

We are again hosting a Red Cross Blood Drive but this year it's virtual! What does that mean? It means that instead of an at-convention donation, attendees pledge to donate blood between now and the convention. Why wait? Sign up now!

» PLEDGE TO DONATE BLOOD

What Can You Donate?

At our blood drive, you will be able to donate...

Blood: The most common type of donation, during which approximately a pint of 'whole blood' is given. This type of blood donation usually takes about an hour and can be done every 56 days.

Power Red: A Power Red donation collects the red cells but returns most of the plasma and platelets to the donor. These donors must meet specific eligibility requirements, have type A Neg, B Neg, or O blood, and can be done every 112 days, up to 3 times/year.

Who Can Donate?

To ensure the safety of blood donation for both donors and recipients, all volunteer blood donors must be evaluated to determine their eligibility to give blood. The final determination will be made on the day of the donation at the blood drive or blood donation center. If you were deferred from donating in the past, you may be able to donate again.

  • Be in good general health and feeling well.
  • Be at least 17 years old in most states, or 16 years old with parental consent if allowed by state law.
  • Weigh at least 110 lbs. Additional weight requirements apply for donors 18 years old and younger and all high school donors.

Are There Treats?

The Red Cross will provide treats to help get your blood sugar back up after your donation.
